Codentures is a software engineering company that builds and modernises business-critical systems and supplies verified engineers to the teams that run them. We are headquartered in Braga, Portugal, and our clients operate on both sides of the Atlantic.

Our story
Built by engineers, for clients who cannot afford to guess
Codentures started the way most good engineering companies do: with a small group of engineers who were trusted with systems that mattered, and who kept being asked back.
For more than twelve years, our team has designed and delivered software for international clients: regulated payment platforms, multi-tenant SaaS products, healthcare portals, enterprise learning ecosystems and the .NET and Azure estates that quietly run mid-sized businesses. The practice began in India, where it built its reputation and its network of engineers.
Working for clients in other time zones shaped how we operate. Decisions are written down. Status is reported whether the news is good or not. Engineers are trusted to work without close supervision, because we check that they can before anyone else has to.
As our client base concentrated in Europe and the United Kingdom, we moved the company’s centre of gravity to match. Codentures is now headquartered in Braga, contracting under EU law, with engineers in Portugal, across the EU and in India, and clients from London to the US East Coast.
Along the way, clients kept bringing us the same problem in two shapes. Some needed software delivered and owned. Others had the direction and the team, and needed engineers who were as good as their CVs claimed. We had been verifying engineers for our own projects for years, so we built both into one company, under one standard.

We restate every requirement in our own words before writing code, so misunderstandings surface in week one rather than month four.
Architecture sized to the problem
Complexity is paid for by every engineer who touches a system afterwards. The best design decision is often the component we choose not to add.
Write it down
Decisions, standards, status and handovers are written, so quality never depends on who happens to be available that week.
Candour early
A slipped estimate reported in week two is a planning problem. Reported in week eight, it is a trust problem. We have the awkward conversation while it is still cheap.
Build for the next engineer
A system nobody can safely change has stopped being an asset. We optimise for the person who inherits the code, because that person is usually not us.

An engineering network, verified the same way every time
Codentures engineers work with us on contract, by design. That lets us match the right specialist to each engagement rather than the person who happens to be free, and it means we keep engineers by paying reliably, giving them serious work and offering a visible route from talent engagements into Codentures-led delivery.
The network spans lead engineers and architects, senior engineers and mid-level engineers across Portugal, the wider EU and India. Every one of them has passed the same four-layer verification, and every client is told the tier and location of an engineer before the first interview.
